U.S. – ASEAN Internship Program Webinar: We Prosper - Emerging Career Opportunities in Circular Economy, Sustainability, Climate Actions
Last week, the US-ASEAN Internship Program held an insightful webinar themed We Prosper: Emerging Career Opportunities in Circular Economy, Sustainability, Climate Actions!
Students and young professionals across the ASEAN region gathered via Zoom and Facebook Livestream to hear discussions moderated by Senior Director Bernie Baskin of the US-ASEAN Business Council, on recent developments on sustainability, circular economy, and climate action, as well as exclusive insights on emerging career trends & opportunities for 'green' professions.
The webinar opened with a brief remark by U.S. Mission to Asean's CDA Joseph Young where he stresses the importance of advancing towards a more sustainable and resilient future in ASEAN and that the next generation of leaders needs to step up and chart a new course in addressing the climate crisis.
Dr. Nattavud Pimpa of ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies & Dialogue (ACSDSD) and Mahidol University shared his outlook and the need for green jobs in ASEAN.
Ms. Catherine Sheehy of UL gave insights on sustainability-related positions and the skills needed from a US company’s perspective.
Ms. Tantrie Soetjipto of Panin Dubai Syariah Bank and Roemah Indonesia explained the urgency to act on climate change issues, and the commitment needed from every chain of management.
We’d like to give a huge shout-out and appreciation to our panelists for taking their time to share their wonderful views and inspire the young generations of ASEAN for a sustainable and bright future!
