About the role - you will:

Seagate’s IT Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) organization is seeking an intern to optimize and continuously improve our business processes and projects. The intern will assist with our team on implementing IT Infrastructure automation initiatives around data center infrastructure that includes Linux and Windows OS environment.

Intern duties will include but not limited to:  

• Create Ansible playbooks and modules to automate system administration for distributed data centers and global infrastructure.
• Automate the repetitive OS support tasks through Ansible and PowerShell.
• Develop Ansible templates, playbooks integrated with Python scripts for infrastructure config automation.
• Automate the VM provisioning process.
• Produce documentation for tasks completed, according to established standards
• Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments

About you:

• Good understanding on Automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform
• A desire to write tools and applications to automate work rather than do things manually
• Familiarity with tools for monitoring and system alerting
• Professional and positive communication skills
• Ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Must be comfortable with ambiguity and be a resourceful, savvy professional that is committed to finding solutions and making an impact.

Your experience includes:

• Degree in Computer Science,or Computer Engineering.
• Good experience and knowledge in Linux, Windows, and VMware administration
• Proficiency in a high-level language like Python and/or Shell Scripting
• This role requires working collaboratively, strong communication, a heightened attention to detail, superb organization, and collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders across the globe.
• Self-motivated, independent and a team player with strong analytical skills.
